Mystery Monsters (1997) follows the story of Tommy, a new addition to the cast of the highly popular children's television program, "Captain Mike's Mystery Monsters." Eager to uncover the secrets behind the show's impressive monster effects, Tommy is astonished to learn that the creatures are, in fact, real. Complicating matters further, the malevolent Queen Mara, the original owner of the monsters, has returned to Earth with a sinister plan. She aims to reclaim her monstrous possessions and exact revenge on Captain Mike for his past actions.
