The Tough Ones (1999) presents the narrative of two former inmates, Antti and Jussi, who struggle to integrate into society after their release from prison. During their incarceration for a bank heist, their accomplice, who evaded conviction, has since joined the police force. This former partner attempts to assist his friends in adapting to life in a small town in Pohjanmaa. However, Antti and Jussi veer off course, establishing an illicit liquor trade, which ultimately threatens to send them back to their former lives behind bars.
