Diverted (TV) (2009) chronicles the extraordinary events that unfolded on September 11th, 2001, when 38 aircraft originally destined for New York City were rerouted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. This community of approximately 9,000 residents generously welcomed and accommodated around 7,000 passengers for a period of four days until American airspace was once again open for travel.
