Marian, again (TV) (2005) follows the story of Chris Bevan, a dedicated school teacher who is unhappily married to his bland wife, Josie, and has two ungrateful daughters. His closest friend is aware that Chris's heart has always been with Marian, his lively and carefree fiancée who vanished without a trace years ago. One day, Chris spots Marian in a store and can't resist the urge to follow her. He eventually gives up the pursuit when he realizes she has assumed a new identity as the wife of plumber Bernie Sullivan. Bernie is deeply passionate about performing 'real' magic inspired by the Houdini era, but in reality, Marian is his frightened captive, compelled to take the place of his late assistant. Additionally, one of Bevan's daughters is involved in a phone relationship that he strictly forbids, considering it hazardous without realizing its genuine nature and its connection to Marian's predicament.
