Naked (1993) follows the tumultuous journey of Johnny Fletcher (David Thewlis), a man who finds himself on the run after a violent sexual encounter in Manchester. Seeking refuge in London, he turns to his former girlfriend, Louise (Lesley Sharp), hoping to find solace. Johnny, a man of intense anger and sharp wit, lashes out at the societal structures he believes oppress him, often directing his rage towards women. He immediately clashes with Louise's ambitions and manipulates her into a rivalry with her roommate, Sophie (Katrin Cartlidge), who is struggling with drug addiction. As Johnny grows weary of Sophie's desperation, he wanders through the city, encountering a series of marginalized individuals, including an alcoholic waitress (Gina McKee) and a lonely security guard (Peter Wight). Overwhelmed by the brutality of modern Britain, Johnny eventually returns to Louise after suffering a brutal beating. There, he crosses paths with Jeremy (Greg Cruttwell), a man who embodies the materialistic values of the time and has subjected Louise and Sophie to even more degrading treatment.
