Chingolo (1940) follows the adventures of a kind-hearted vagabond known as "Chingolo" (Luis Sandrini), who bravely rescues a young boy from a near-drowning incident. The affluent family of the rescued child is eager to express their gratitude with financial compensation, but Chingolo, true to his unique character, declines the offer, instead requesting only some sustenance. Intrigued by his honesty, the boy's mother takes Chingolo under her wing, determined to mold him into a responsible, working individual. This decision sets off a series of chaotic and humorous events as the eccentric family attempts to instill their values in Chingolo, who responds with his own brand of mischief. Despite the turmoil, Chingolo's journey leads him to discover love and rediscover his innate goodness.
