During the spanish civil war nine residents of Santa Cruz de la Salceda locality were murdered by supporters of the dictator Franco, remaining as missing until the year 2003, when in collaboration with the ARMH (Association for the Recovery of the Historical Memory) six of them were exhumed from a mass grave, and laid to rest in the village graveyard.
