High Flash (2018) follows the story of a fisherman, Ah-Hai, who is discovered deceased after setting himself on fire during a massive demonstration against TL Petrochemical. The event quickly gains media attention, and Ah-Hai is celebrated as a hero. Medical examiner Chou is tasked with the case alongside public prosecutor Kim, who happens to be his former fiancée. As they delve deeper, they uncover clues pointing to a homicide and a significant cover-up. Chou decides to go against protocol to investigate independently, aiming to safeguard Kim. As the layers of the case are peeled back, the investigation becomes entwined with their personal history.
