Carambole (2005) is an adaptation of the novel by Håkan Nesser, a renowned Swedish crime author. This film is part of a series of six movies produced over eight months, all inspired by Nesser's works. However, prior familiarity with the books or films is not necessary to enjoy this standalone thriller. The narrative revolves around a contented doctor who, on a stormy night, inadvertently strikes a young boy with his vehicle and flees the scene upon realizing the boy has perished. Days later, he receives a letter from an anonymous sender who claims knowledge of his actions and demands money for their silence. As the doctor struggles to keep his secret, his life becomes increasingly complicated and fraught with danger.
