Erik Larsson, text writer for picture books, is weeks behind his deadline, on account of another break-up with feisty lover Lilli. Workaholic Stockholm deputy editor Svea Jerndahl, a young widow, comes push him on his island home. A failed ploy makes Svea meet Erik's best friend, carpenter Anders Vinter, who hosts them both. His young son Linus helps both potential couples get together.
