When Augusto’s father dies, he’s left as a companion to his authoritarian and autophobic mother. When his mother dies, Augusto moves to Tlacotalpan where for the first time he notices women. He mets an Ukranian girl who is waiting for her boyfriend by the riverside. When Augusto finally asks for a chance the boyfriend has returned and takes her with him to live abroad. A few years later Augusto gets really sick. In his deluding agony he can’t distinguish between fantasy and reality. A young woman named Nastenka waiting by the riverside? Is this a story taken from Russian literature? We get to know his deluding love story through his eyes.
