Sister Stella L. (1984) follows the journey of Sister Stella Legaspi, portrayed by Vilma Santos, a devoted nun who finds herself entangled in labor disputes after uncovering the government's disregard for the impoverished and working classes. Her commitment to advocating for the underprivileged is tested when her journalist friend, Nick Fajardo, played by Jay Ilagan, is subjected to torture, and Dencio, a union leader portrayed by Tony Santos, is abducted and murdered.
