Gordon's War (1973) follows the journey of a African American soldier who returns to his Harlem neighborhood after serving in the Vietnam War, only to find that his wife has tragically succumbed to a heroin overdose. Driven by anger and a desire for justice, he rallies three of his former military comrades to devise a strategy to combat the drug dealers plaguing their community.
