Mod (2011) follows the life of Aranya, a young woman residing in the picturesque town of Ganga, Nilgiris, alongside her widowed father, Ashok Mahadeo, an ardent admirer of Bollywood legend Kishore Kumar. Aranya's days are filled with repairing timepieces and assisting at a local eatery owned by her friend, Gayatri Garg. Her routine takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious man enters her life, seeking repairs for his wristwatch. This man, who introduces himself as Andrew Raymond, turns out to be an old schoolmate with a secret admiration for Aranya. He confesses to having waited a decade to reconnect with her, and the two begin spending time together. Meanwhile, Aranya grapples with financial pressures from her creditor, Gangaram, and the looming threat of R.K. Constructions planning to build a resort. However, her newfound happiness is abruptly shattered when she uncovers the chilling truth: the man she knows as Andrew was actually killed years ago, and the individual claiming his identity is a troubled inmate from a nearby mental institution.
