Overnight

All is relative and by the by in the universe of Hungarian stock broker Peter: just like the globalized stockmarket ,love, loyalty and faithfulness seem to be subject to daily oscillation. In 'overnight' we are shown 24 hours of Peter's life. These are some fairly crucial 24 hours, however, as they are the only time he's got to make two life-changing decisions: Should he, or should he not be part of the illegal deal, which is the only way to save his financial skin and what should he tell his girlfriend, who has just sent him the positive outcome of a pregnancy test in the post today? Just as the money deal seems to be working out fine, a fellow conspirator turns up to claim his share of the deal. And what about the other big question? Namely what is the prospect return on the stocks and shares market when it comes to being a dad? As the final part of Ferenc Török's Hungary trilogy ('Moscow Square', 2001; 'Easter Sugar', 2004) 'Overnight' sketches a genuine and critical portrait of an insecure generation. This dramatic thriller shows what happens to a generation, that watched the -so called - Eastern block crumble.
