Marie is a young woman who is repudiated by the small, closed-minded coastal community where she lives. Her mother is confined to a wheelchair, victim of a strange disease, and her father tries to keep both of them away from the eyes of the town. One day, Marie discovers that her body is starting to change and she decides to explore her family’s dark secrets.
