Tea for Two (1950) follows the story of affluent heiress Nanette Carter, portrayed by Doris Day, who makes a wager with her uncle, betting $25,000 that she can refuse all temptations for a span of 48 hours. If she succeeds, she plans to use the winnings to fund a Broadway production showcasing songs composed by her boyfriend, played by Gordon MacRae, and to secure her own starring role. However, Nanette is unaware that her uncle has suffered significant financial losses due to the Stock Market crash, adding an unexpected layer of complexity to her challenge.
