The Shooter (1997) unfolds in a small western town where a renowned gunslinger stands up against the powerful family that dominates the area. Unlike a typical hero's journey, he is captured and subjected to a savage beating that leaves him near death. A prostitute, who has also suffered at the hands of the same outlaw group, comes to his aid, along with another lone wanderer.
