A Sea Dog's Tale (S) (1926) follows the adventures of Gumbo, the ruler of a native tribe on the South Sea island of Salami. His daughter, the enchanting Princess Vanilla, becomes infatuated with an American man named Wilbur Waters after discovering a newspaper clipping featuring him. Unaware of the true reason behind her fascination, Gumbo sends a prisoner named Jo Jo to locate Wilbur and bring him to the island in exchange for his freedom. Meanwhile, Wilbur is a struggling individual on the verge of marrying his landlady, Lemona Smith, to settle his debts. Jo Jo successfully abducts Wilbur just before the wedding and transports him to Salami. Upon seeing Princess Vanilla, Wilbur is convinced he has entered paradise. However, Jo Jo's mission takes a dangerous turn when he learns the true purpose behind his task, leading to a potential deadly confrontation. Lemona, determined to reclaim her fiancé, adds another layer of complexity to the unfolding drama.
