After diversifying their offers, Lau and Mak have returned to Hong Kong to shoot this elegant urban thriller that for the most part picks up the coordinates of their success. Its original title, whose translation would be ‘Wounded City’, fits this story like a glove, a story of characters that is bitter like the whisky with which the a detective tries to forget his girlfriend’s suicide, and sad like the past of a policeman whose father-in-law has been brutally murdered (info from cinemasitges.com).
