Junk (2012) follows the story of Kaveh and Raul, two former collaborators in the world of B-movies who have experienced a painful split. Kaveh, grappling with the loss of his girlfriend, spends his days in a haze of drugs and isolation within his apartment. Meanwhile, Raul is pursuing academic endeavors at Columbia University. When their film "Islama-rama 2" is unexpectedly accepted into a prestigious film festival, the estranged duo is compelled to reconnect, albeit cautiously, to present their script to the enigmatic producer, Yukio Tai (James Hong). Their journey is fraught with challenges, including confrontations with tough bodyguards, ruthless industry rivals, incompetent agents, romantic complications, demanding actors, and the lingering bitterness of their broken friendship.
