Hello Smile! (1956) follows the whimsical tale of a tiny European monarchy eager to capture a joyful image of their perpetually glum Princess for an impending royal portrait. The cunning Prime Minister, with a plan as bold as it is devious, ventures to Paris to abduct three renowned comedians, intending to coerce them into performing a hilarious act to elicit a smile from the Princess. Unbeknownst to the King, this scheme unfolds, and the Prime Minister must contend with a "fasting strike" by the comedians. To break their resolve, he resorts to an unusual tactic: broadcasting a mouthwatering recipe for "Coq au Vin" over the radio.
