In 1970s Romania rebellious and erratic teenager Petre Pantea is struggling to win his older step brother's love and attention.His brother,Andrei Pantea, is a famous actor and has a very successful career enjoying fame and a rich lifestyle.Envious of his brother's lifestyle and fame,Petre becomes erratic and rebellious to the point of breaking the law.His older brother is well known in the city and he is embarrassed when his younger brother is caught shoplifting but bails him out.Andrei's fame,money and connections help him to bail out Petre every time he's into trouble but Andrei grows tired of it.One day Petre meets a young pretty girl who's an admirer of Andrei's films.Petre likes Dora a lot but when his older brother Andrei starts dating her Petre feels betrayed and runs away again.
