Bu su (1987) follows the story of Suzume, a young girl who relocates to Tokyo to reside in her aunt's geisha house. Initially, Suzume shows little interest in social activities or forming friendships with her classmates, and she is also disinterested in the geisha lifestyle. As the school prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Suzume finds herself involved in a series of unfortunate events that lead her to decide to perform an old dance on stage, a legacy passed down from her mother.
