Reckonings Against the Grain (1971) delves into the story of François Nolan, a man driven by a decade-long quest for vengeance. A decade prior, François and his brother were double-crossed by an unknown accomplice during a heist gone wrong. In the ensuing chaos, François's brother was fatally shot, and François left a police officer severely disfigured. Now, François has returned to settle the score. The former accomplices, unaware of the traitor's identity, are gripped by fear and paranoia. Meanwhile, the disfigured officer bides his time, awaiting the opportune moment to exact his own retribution.
