Munyeodo (1972) centers around Mo-Hwa, a renowned shaman in a small coastal community. The arrival of Christianity in the village begins to erode Mo-Hwa's spiritual influence. Her world is further shaken when she discovers that her son, Wuk, has embraced Christian theology. In a desperate attempt to save her son from what she perceives as evil, Mo-Hwa conducts an exorcism and destroys a Bible. This clash of beliefs and practices leads to a profound rift between mother and son, ultimately tearing the family apart.
