There's Something About Mary
1998 · Movie · 119 min. · United States
Ben Stiller plays a 30-something loser-in-love who decides to hires a private detective to find his high school sweetheart in hopes of rekindling their long-ago romance. Matt Dillon is the detective who tracks down the lost lover (Cameron Diaz) only to fall head-over-heels in love with her himself. So he reports back to his client that she's a 250 pound behemoth living on welfare with her four fatherless children. Of course, the Farrelly brothers were responsible for that no-brow hit Dumber and Dumber, so don't expect a lot of subtlety in this film that nonetheless looks to be a hit.
