Righteous Kill (2008) follows the chilling tale of a vigilante serial killer prowling the streets of Manhattan, focusing on violent criminals who have evaded justice. Each victim is discovered with a cryptic four-line poem that serves as a twisted justification for their demise. The killer's objective is to eliminate those who have slipped through the cracks of the legal system, performing what they see as a necessary service that law enforcement cannot or will not do. When a notorious pimp is added to the list of victims, seasoned detectives Turk and Rooster are assigned to the case, which could be the most significant of their 30-year careers. With the inadvertent assistance of a local drug dealer, the detectives piece together the scant clues available, but their investigation takes a dark turn as they begin to suspect that the killer might be someone from within their own ranks.
