Crow's Egg (2014) unfolds in a modest dwelling in the heart of Chennai's slums, where two young brothers reside with their mother and grandmother. The absence of their father, incarcerated for reasons left unexplained, casts a shadow over their lives. The mother strives to maintain a semblance of normalcy, keeping the household afloat amidst their challenging circumstances. The brothers, meanwhile, occupy their days with playful antics and the thrill of pilfering and consuming eggs from crow's nests. Their world takes an unexpected turn when a television, a government-issued gift for those living below the poverty line, is brought into their home, heralding a new era of possibilities and distractions.
