Once upon a time in Durango
2010 · Movie · 95 min. · Mexico
In the Los Llanos region of Durango, old Antonio takes care of a town where dozens of national and foreign westerns were filmed. Gabriel Nervárez, a thirteen year old boy who lives in a nearby village, secretly enters the western town and manages to overcome the aloofness of the old man, who ends up admitting that as a young man he worked doing action scenes in the movies. Gabriel asks him to teach him his trade and, finally, to the boy’s delight, Antonio agrees. Their relationship grows beyond the teaching of a trade and becomes a moving friendship framed by the impressive settings where the legend of Durango as the Land of Films was forged.
