Twelve Mile Road (TV)

Stephen Landis (Selleck) is a happy man on the surface with unresolved regrets underneath whose sweet and loving girlfriend, Leah (Anna Gunn), and her teenaged daughter, Roxanne (Moss), have recently moved in with him. Their peaceful country life is soon disrupted by the arrival of Stephen's wild and unpredictable 16-year-old daughter, Dulcie (Maggie Grace). At first Stephen thinks his overwhelmed ex-wife, Angela (Wendy Crewson), whom he still misses, has exaggerated Dulcie's troubles. However, he soon witnesses Dulcie's bizarre and destructive behavior, and though he intentionally acts nonchalantly during Dulcie's outbursts, he secretly fears for her sanity. Despite her intense misgivings about staying at the farm, Dulcie finds herself forming an unlikely friendship with the sweet, though impressionable Roxanne - and Roxanne's new boyfriend, Will, the religious 17-year-old son of Stephen's friends and farmer neighbors, Asa and Henrietta. As time passes, Dulcie begins to thrive in her new surroundings, and her growing bond with Stephen creates an unforeseen opportunity for her family to finally address and heal the wounds of the past.
