A portrait of Diego

A historical/biographical documentary. The narrative thread and backbone of the documentary is the never before seen material filmed in 1949 and produced by three of the greatest Mexican public figures of the time: Diego Rivera, Gabriel Figueroa and Manuel Alvarez Bravo. Depicting episodes in the life of Master Rivera, Figueroa and Alvarez Bravo. Through these images we attempt to reproduce the ties between reality, the artist and the graphic work, as well as the mutual correlations and influences among them. Parallel to this, the film deals with nationalism in art and its link to the esthetics of these three great artists within the historical framework of the material on both the political and artistic level, in regard to the artistic and intellectual point of view in the modern era.
