Gyuri

Gyuri traces an unlikely geopolitical line between the small Hungarian village of Nagyvarad and the Yanomami Indigenous Land in the Brazilian Amazon. A Jewish woman and survivor of the Second World War, Claudia Andujar found herself exiled in Brazil and has dedicated her life to safeguarding the Yanomami people. Her invaluable collection of photographs, her tireless militancy, her experience of the war, and the current vulnerability of the indigenous peoples are explored through dialogues between Andujar, the shamen Davi Kopenawa, and the activist Carlo Zacquini, with narration provided by the Hungarian philosopher Peter Pál Pelbart.
