Plots with a View (2002)

Plots with a View (2002) is a hilarious comedy that delves into the quirky world of small-town Welsh country life, focusing on the rivalry between two funeral homes. Boris Plotz, the director of Plotz Funeral Homes, had two childhood dreams: dancing and Betty. Betty, who secretly loved Boris, was forced to marry a gold digger due to her father's wishes. Boris abandoned his dreams and took over the family business. Their lives remained unchanged until Betty's mother-in-law passed away, bringing Boris and Betty back together. As they plan the funeral, their old feelings resurface. The funeral is set to take place at Plotz Funeral Homes, much to the dismay of rival funeral director Frank Featherbed. Featherbed, an American, aims to transform the funeral industry in Wales with his innovative "theme" funerals. Boris and Betty realize the only barrier to their love is Betty's marriage to the unfaithful Mayor. In a desperate attempt to be together, they decide to fake Betty's death and run away. Meanwhile, Featherbed hosts his first themed funeral, a Star Trek extravaganza, which goes awry when the coffin breaks through the roof during a special effects malfunction. Boris seeks the town doctor's help to fake Betty's death, but chaos ensues, setting the stage for a series of comedic mishaps.
