Puzzle (1974) follows the story of Peter, a man who, after a severe car accident, finds himself grappling with amnesia. Under the care of a psychiatrist in London, Peter is introduced to a mysterious individual who claims to know him. However, Peter does not recognize the man, leading to a tense confrontation where the stranger pulls out a gun. Before any harm can be done, the man is shot through the window of Peter's apartment. Compelled to dispose of the body, Peter is further unsettled by a telegram purportedly sent by his supposedly forgotten wife, Sara, who is in Italy. Driven by a desire to regain his memory, Peter journeys to Italy to meet Sara. Upon arrival, he fails to recognize her at the train station and is guided back to her by a man who has been trailing him.
