Caserio Arantzeta, 20th century, like every night Dolores reads stories from the book of Amalur to her son Julián before sleeping. Inazio, an agnostic father of a family, scoffs at his wife's beliefs. One night, he returns drunk to his hamlet, claiming that he have lost his home in a bet from Aizkolaris, an act that they will regret forever.
