This is a short documentary on the Chitrakathi caste of the Konkan coast in West India. It focuses on the rich and beautiful area of Vengurla. The Chitrakathi are a small, low-status caste specialized in several areas of myth (re)production: painting palm leafs and temple walls, singing musical versions of epics such as the Ramayana, making shadow-puppet plays based on local mythology, etc.
