The Last Run

“The Last Run”, starring Fred Savage, is a dark sexy comedy that confronts male/female relationships amidst a beauty obsessed and media driven society. Steven Goodson is your average twenty-eight year old guy toiling away as an accountant. His girlfriend Chloe (Andrea Bogart) is every guy’s dream, a stunning model who takes your breath away. For three years Steven has been “the man,” armed with the confidence that comes from being with a girl who God has smiled upon. However, this happiness and his entire identity, is shattered the instant he finds out that Chloe has strayed! Devastated, Steven turns for support to his best friend Jack Manning (Steven Pasquale), a cynical sell-out who’s engaged to his boss’s (Ray Baker) daughter (Amy Adams). Jack bluntly tells him the only way to get over Chloe is to “go on a run” and sleep with as many women as he possibly can. Steven thinks this is “bad medicine” and instead is determined to replace Chloe with another beautiful model. He wants to feel the power of the “arm piece” again. He decks himself out: the right clothes, the right watch, the right car (he leases a Mercedes he can’t afford). But when this approach fails miserably Steven becomes even more desperate. Clancy (Vyto Ruginis), the bartender at their hangout and Steven’s voice of reason, tries to calm him down. But Jack’s advice has already taken hold. Steven begins his quest and what happens next is completely unexpected. He becomes a “dating Terminator” and soon every waking moment and hard-earned dollar is spent in pursuit of conquests. He goes "postal" on his boss (Robert Romanus), burns all his cash on strippers and escorts, and spirals out of control. It seems like nothing can stop him and his predatory ways until he re-connects with Amelia (Erinn Bartlett), a girl he went to high school with and always had a “thing” for. Amelia appears to be his salvation, but in an ironic twist Steven realizes that he has gone too far. Can he break himself out of this non-stop carnal obsession and work it out with the girl we know he should be with, or is he destined to be a self-destructive sex addict?
