Heroes (2008)

Heroes (2008) follows the journey of two film academy students, Ali (Vatsal Sheth) and Sameer (Sohail Khan), who embark on a mission to create a documentary to graduate. Their film aims to highlight the reasons why one should not join the Indian Armed Forces. They set out on a motorcycle road trip, tasked with delivering three letters from fallen soldiers to their families. Their first destination is Atari, Amritsar, where they encounter Kuljeet Kaur (Preity Zinta) and her son Jassi, the family of a Sikh soldier, Balkar Singh (Salman Khan), who was killed in action. The village's pride in the soldier's sacrifice deeply impacts the students. In Himachal, they meet Vikram Shergill (Sunny Deol), a wheelchair-bound former Air Force pilot whose brother, DJ (Bobby Deol), was also killed in action. Vikram's pride in his brother's sacrifice further influences the students. Their final stop is Leh, where they meet Dr. and Mrs. Naqvi, whose son Sahil (Dino Morea) also died for his country. After restoring Dr. Naqvi's (Mithun Chakraborty) life to normalcy, they conclude their filming. Through these encounters, they realize that being a soldier is about profound love and pride for one's motherland. Years later, Jassi (also played by Salman Khan), now a soldier, visits Ali and Sameer at the military academy they founded after failing multiple army entrance tests.
