Set in a busy job centre in the fictitious town of Bramall, in the West Midlands, the series tells the story of neurotic boss Trish (Hadland), whose staff include reluctant Karl (Tovey), the sexually driven Angela (Enright), youthful security guards Paul (Marquez) and Janette (Curran), and the enthusiastic computer expert George (Akhtar), who navigate their way through social issues, stag parties and problematic clients.
