A confinement case of a high school girl causes a stir, in a desolated port town in Japan. The victim, Mai Kudoh, goes back to school, only to be given strange looks. The one classmate that would talk to her is Ujiie, a boy who has repeatedly caused trouble and was suspended from school due to a violent act. He too is an odd one out. Thrown into despair, Ujiie isolates himself, and Mai sees her past self in him. One day, being harassed from his classmates, Ujiie fights back with violence. Witnessing this, Mai remembers the words of the man who held her captive and takes action. What did she take from her confinement days and what was the true meaning behind her action? Mai, Ujiie, and the man -the lives of the three intricately link and heads.
