Strangers (2000) follows the story of Kaveh, a young American man who traverses the southern roads of Iran in search of Dehdari, the childhood home of his recently deceased and estranged father. Along the way, he encounters Abdul Reza, a 30-year-old truck driver burdened by financial struggles and family obligations. Abdul Reza is repairing his worn-out truck by the roadside when Kaveh approaches him. Kaveh hires Abdul Reza as his guide, and the two unlikely companions set out on a three-day journey together.
