Derek (Beau Bridges) directs a television show about the paranormal, but he himself is a skeptic and cynically exploits his subject matter for high ratings. So when a young couple from Kansas contacts him with claims that their 19th-century home is haunted, Derek jumps on the opportunity and moves his film crew into the house to record the ghostly goings-on. But after witnessing levitations, moving objects, and strange apparitions, Derek begins to doubt his own rational beliefs and enters into a terrifying encounter with the unknown.
