Narc (2002) follows the story of a seasoned undercover narcotics officer who meets an untimely end, leaving his investigation at a standstill. In response, the Detroit Police Department calls back Nick Tellis, a former detective who was dismissed 18 months prior after a stray bullet injured a pregnant woman. Tellis is paired with Henry Oak, a tenacious cop who is constantly under the watchful eye of internal affairs. Together, they delve into the case, uncovering a web of deceit and danger. As they follow leads, informants start turning up dead, and Tellis's wife grows increasingly unhappy with his return to the force. Meanwhile, Oak is fiercely protective of the deceased narc's wife. Tellis meticulously reviews the case file, grappling with the complexities of the investigation and Oak's aggressive tactics. Despite pressure from higher-ups to wrap up the case, Tellis and Oak persist, eventually finding clues that lead them to an auto body shop. The truth behind the narc's death remains elusive, leaving Tellis to wonder if he will ever uncover the full story.
