Cenata na gradot (1970) unfolds in a quiet village as the Second World War nears its conclusion. The German forces are preparing to withdraw, but their departure is interrupted by an unexpected event. A group of Russian prisoners, transported in a vehicle, manage to secure food from the locals. Seizing the opportunity, the prisoners overpower their guards and make a daring escape. The villagers, moved by compassion, attempt to shield the fugitives from the Germans, but their efforts ultimately prove futile.
