Jaganmohini (1978) tells the tale of Raja (Narasimha Raju), a king from a past life who, while hunting in the forest, encounters Mohini (Jayamalini), a young woman selling sticks. Enchanted by her beauty, Raja seduces her and spends a week with her before abandoning her with false promises of marriage. Heartbroken and betrayed, Mohini takes her own life, vowing to return and seek vengeance in her next life. In his subsequent reincarnation, Raja finds himself back in the same forest, where he encounters the ghost of Jaganmohini, who attempts to lure him with her allure. Meanwhile, Raja is married to a devout woman (Prabha), who, with the help of a monkey and a snake, prays fervently to her goddess for protection. Ultimately, Jaganmohini achieves her revenge and ascends to heaven.
