The Garage (1980) follows the story of a group of individuals in a Soviet cooperative who collectively invest their funds to construct a much-needed parking garage. However, upon completion, it is revealed that the garage has four fewer parking spaces than initially promised. In a harsh and unyielding manner characteristic of the Soviet era, the four members with the least influence and connections are expelled from the cooperative through a staged vote, resulting in the loss of their entire investment.
