Lost & Found (1999) follows Dylan Ramsey (David Spade), a moderately successful restaurant owner in Los Angeles, on his quest to find the perfect partner. His search seems futile until he encounters the enchanting French cellist, Lila Dubois (Marceau), in an unexpected collision while she chases her stray dog. Captivated by her charm, Dylan devises an unconventional plan to win her affection: he abducts her dog and feigns its rescue to gain her gratitude. However, the scheme takes a chaotic turn when the dog ingests a valuable ring belonging to a friend, forcing Dylan to temporarily keep the pet until the ring is recovered. As Dylan and Lila spend more time together, their bond deepens, but their budding romance is threatened by the arrival of Rene (Patrick Bruel), Lila's former boyfriend, who is intent on reclaiming her and humiliating Dylan.
