Unfinished Sky (2007) follows the story of John Woldring, a straightforward sheep farmer residing in the remote Australian Outback. His tranquil life takes an abrupt turn when a mysterious and frightened woman arrives at his doorstep in the dead of night, armed and clearly distressed. Despite his initial reluctance, John takes her in and, although he resists her romantic advances, he allows her to become his housekeeper. As time passes, John uncovers her secret: she is an Afghan refugee searching for her relatives who have also immigrated illegally. He attempts to assist her in her quest, but they soon realize that human traffickers are hot on her trail, and these criminals are far more connected and dangerous than John had anticipated.
