A Hick a Slick and a Chick (S) (1948) presents a whimsical love triangle involving a charming mouse named Daisy Lou and her two very different suitors. Elmo, a humble and somewhat awkward country mouse, competes for Daisy Lou's affection against Blackie, a confident and stylish city mouse. When Blackie impresses Daisy Lou with a luxurious mink stole, Elmo vows to outdo him by procuring an even more extravagant ermine coat. In a hilarious turn of events, Elmo mistakenly targets a cat named Herman, believing him to be an ermine. After a wild chase around a table, Herman is left unconscious, and Elmo manages to remove a coat-shaped patch of fur, which he proudly presents to Daisy Lou.
